small minded people
small minded people
love to cut you down,
will criticize and whine
- but only behind your back
never willing to face you openly
they plant their seeds
of hate and doubt
- but will never let you know where it’s coming from
little do they know,
or maybe they do,
how their words will scar,
- but they’ll blithely spit venom at you.
oh sure, people tell me,
don’t let their criticism hurt you,
don’t take it personally.
- but it’s too late, the damage has been done.
what doesn’t kill you
cripples you,
it surely does not
make you stronger.
