Did you know WERF can generate energy from wastewater?

Research recently completed by the Water Environment Research Foundation (WERF) answers enduring questions on why more U.S. wastewater treatment facilities do not harvest the biogas generated during wastewater treatment to power the plant operations or return power to the grid. Unfortunately, the answers are related to human behavior rather than technical feasibility.

On September 13 & 14, 2012 OREG (The Ocean Renewable Energy Group) will hold their 2012 Annual Conference “Turning Potential Into Reality” at the Westin Nova Scotian Hotel, Halifax, Nova Scotia.

This year’s event will bring together industry, government, academia, suppliers, utilities, and other related sectors to network, learn, and share ideas on how to realize the potential of Canada’s growing marine renewable energy sector. The two-day conference will feature action planning work sessions in addition to our usual updates on progress by sector leaders, and networking opportunities intended to help build connections and support emerging industry needs.
