Denise Bode is the Chief Executive Officer of the American Wind Energy Association, the national trade association of theU.S.wind energy industry. Ms. Bode is a nationally recognized energy policy expert and served for nine years on the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.

    1. Yes Diane, there is, mainly due to the objection that the wind farms aren’t “pretty”. I always want to ask the people who object to wind power farms based on how they look: “Is the sight of people dying from lung cancer “pretty”?, because that’s the alternative to clean electrical generation!” Also, the industry has taken care of the objections to wind power based on their environmental impact by siting the wind towers out of the flight path of birds. Lastly, the new vertical axis blades are safer for wildlife because they don’t slice the air like a child’s pinwheel, but rather, move the air like an eggbeater, keeping the blades well away from our avian friends!
