  1. on the other hand, the Indian Mutiny of 1857 was chock-full of atrocities, most of which were committed by the rebels. read about Cawnpore sometime, if you have the stomach for it.

    1. Ya just can’t help yourself, can ya Bob? This blog is about the inspirational actions that women (who already don’t get credit where credit is due) have done. But you just had to respond totally off topic so you can show off your intellectual superiority. Did Bhima Bai Holkar take part in the atrocities of 1857? Because, that’s who this blog post was about…not someone else..or another war…or you! Please stay on topic or don’t bother with your responses that are simply meant to make you feel smarter than others! I’ve tried to let you know this in private emails, but you just can’t seem to help yourself.

      1. OK. i withdraw the comment. I’m not trying to show off, I’m trying to share info…all those years as a teacher, y’know?. Most Americans are pretty uninformed about world history, and could fall into the trap of thinking that all imperialism is 100% evil (more like 98%), and all “freedom fighters” are Gandhis (or Bhimas) Lakhshmibai, the Rani of Jhansi, did some legitimate freedom fighting in 1857, in the midst of all the horror. But my intent was to supplement your comments, not to overshadow them or be off topic. I’ll keep it to myself from now on.
