Black Friday has nothing to do with race!

bags of moneyOn November 28, 1981 the Philadelphia Inquirer explained that the meaning of the term Black Friday has to do with retail shopping venues making a profit. It is the one day in the year when retailers can go from being “in the red” which, in accounting, means having a negative balance or loss in the books, to being “in the black” which, in accounting, means having a positive or profit balance in the books! It has nothing to do with race at all!

Since I do accomoneypileunting, I know that the Friday after Thanksgiving (the first shopping day of the holiday season) can mean the difference between a business having a profitable year or a year showing a loss. The moral of the story is…don’t go looking for evil where none is present.
