  1. We all know that eggs are white, but did you know that an orange egg too exists in this universe?
This is the work of the ‘orange tip’ butterfly which is really beautiful and it is found across Europe and Asia. The name comes from the bright orange tips of the male’s forewings.
The males are commonly seen in spring and are able to hide their orange tips by tucking the forewings behind the hindwings at rest.
The eggs are first white in colour and then gradually changes to orange colour. The caterpillar is of course not spared from many natural enemies and one of them are the wasps. Unfortunately, due to climate change the orange tip’s number is declining fast.
